Note - If your executive driver is not visible at the pickup location and you cannot reach them via phone, you must call 800.558.5466 (US) or 617.787.5575 (International) immediately to avoid a “no-show” charge, which includes the reserved fare and applicable fees.

BILLING TERMS

  • Commonwealth Worldwide operates as a no-tipping service provider, with all driver compensation fully included in the pricing. Our executive drivers are strictly prohibited from soliciting tips or gratuities. As such, none of the charges billed are designated as tips, gratuities, or service fees for the drivers or any other employee of Commonwealth Worldwide or its affiliate partners.
  • Additional charges will be itemized on the customer’s billing statement when applicable (e.g. tolls, parking, airport and regulatory fees, fuel charge, cell phone, requested items, tax/VAT, etc.).
  • Applicable taxes will be charged as required.
  • All published rates are subject to change without notice.
  • All rates are calculated in the local currency and billed in U.S. dollars at the prevailing exchange rate. Due to fluctuating currency exchange rates, U.S. dollar equivalents of international rates may vary.
  • Holiday surcharges may apply on trips occurring on recognized holidays in the market where the transportation is taking place.
  • Late-night/early-morning surcharge of $20.00 applies to all pick-ups scheduled between 23:00 and 04:59 in the time zone the reservation is taking place.

FLAT-RATE BILLING

  • Commonwealth Worldwide offers standardized, flat-rate pricing for travel to and from most major cities and airports in sedans and SUVs. For routes and/or vehicles where a flat rate does not apply, billing is based on an hourly rate.
  • Waiting time is defined as the length of time that elapses between a scheduled pickup and a passenger getting into the reserved vehicle. 
    • After a five (5) minute grace period on all flat-rate trips that do not begin at an airport, there is a $10.00 charge for every five (5) minutes an executive driver is waiting.
    • For rides that begin at an airport, there is a $10.00 charge for every five (5) minutes of waiting time after a thirty (30) minute grace period for domestic arrivals and a forty-five (45) minute grace period for international arrivals.
  • Passenger-requested stops on route during a flat-rate trip will be charged at $35.00 for Sedans, $50.00 for all other vehicles.
  • Passenger-requested stops off-route during a flat-rate trip will be charged the prevailing hourly rate.

HOURLY BILLING

  • Hourly rides are charged garage-to-garage in 15-minute increments based on the prevailing hourly rate, vehicle minimum, and duration reserved.  Reservations booked more than the minimum requirement will be charged for the time reserved. For example: if you book a vehicle for 7 hours, but only use the vehicle for 5 hours, even though you have met the minimum hourly requirement, you will still be billed at 7 hours plus garage time. The vehicle and executive driver were reserved for your exclusive use during that time.
  • Garage-to-Garage Time: Final charges include actual ride duration plus garage-to-garage time—the time required for the vehicle and executive driver to travel from our office to the pickup location and back after drop-off.
  • Minimum Hourly Billing:
    • In the Contiguous U.S.
      • Sedans and SUVs: 2-hour minimum
      • Other vehicles: 4-hour minimum or more, depending on the type
    • Markets outside the Contiguous U.S., Special Markets, & Events: Seasonal locations (e.g., Vail, Key West, Hamptons) and special events (e.g., the Super Bowl) may require longer minimum booking times.
    • Additional Charges: All rate quotes exclude wait time (on transfers), stop charges (on transfers), tolls, parking, taxes, and other applicable fees, which will be added to the final invoice.

CHANGE, CANCELLATION, AND NO-SHOW POLICY

Cancellation policies may vary in certain U.S. markets (e.g., Martha’s Vineyard, Hamptons, Vail), seasonal locations, special events, and for specialty vehicles (e.g., buses). Any modifications confirmed at the time of booking or communicated in advance of the pickup will override the standard cancellation policy. To avoid late cancellation fees, please confirm your trip’s specific policy when booking.

 Standard Cancellation Fees

A cancellation fee equal to the full trip cost (or the minimum vehicle charge, whichever is greater) plus applicable fees will apply unless the following conditions are met:

  • Outside the Contiguous U.S.: 
    • Cancellations for sedans and SUVs must be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time in the time zone the reservation is taking place. Cancellation policies of other equipment vary based on the market.
  • Within the Contiguous U.S.:
    • Standard Sedans & SUVs (Airport Transfers): Must be changed or canceled at least 2 hours before the scheduled pickup time in the time zone the reservation is taking place. An airport transfer is a direct trip between an airport and downtown (point A to point B) with no stops and a set transfer rate.
    • Non-Airport Transfer in Standard Sedan & SUVs (Hourly, As-Directed, Roadshows): Must be changed or cancelled at least 8 hours before the scheduled pickup time, in the time zone the reservation is taking place
    • Premium Sedans, Premium SUVs & Vans: Must be changed or canceled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled pick up, in the time zone the reservation is taking place.
    • Coordinators: Must be changed or canceled at least 48 hours in advance, in the time zone the reservation is taking place.
    • Minibuses & Motor Coaches: Must be changed or canceled at least 72 hours in advance, in the time zone the reservation is taking place.

ADDITIONAL TERMS

  • Quotes will be provided upon request. All quotes provided are to be considered estimates only, and actual charges will be determined upon the completion of the service.
  • If an executive driver is requested to stage in a no-parking or restricted area, any parking violations incurred will be charged to the final invoice.
  • In no event will Commonwealth Worldwide or its affiliate partners, be responsible or held liable for damages of any kind caused by any delay in performance or failure to perform, caused by circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to, missed, canceled, diverted, or delayed flights/trains, or any other unforeseen incidents, including but not limited to weather, traffic,  passenger illness, acts of God, war, government regulations, disasters, strikes, civil disorders, or emergencies.
  • If a trip is canceled and rebooked, we will make every effort to accommodate the new request without disrupting previously scheduled reservations.
  • Commonwealth Worldwide and its affiliate partners assume no responsibility for lost or damaged baggage, personal belongings, or any items left in the vehicle.
  • Commonwealth Worldwide does provide child safety seats, for a $50.00 fee. Parents and guardians of children traveling in Commonwealth Worldwide vehicles are to install child safety seats provided, in accordance with state and federal laws. Due to liability restrictions, the executive driver cannot install a child seat
  • The following items are prohibited from Commonwealth Worldwide vehicles: alcoholic beverages, glass containers, smoking, firearms, weapons of any kind, explosives, and fireworks.
